mccain on obama

With McCain's nomination as the Republican candidate even more likely, McCain has begun a new smear campaign against likely Democratic candidate Senator Obama. Senator McCain said in reference to his presidential rival, "I will work hard to make sure Americans aren't deceived by an eloquent but empty call for change," and referred to Senator Obama as having the "confused leadership of an inexperienced candidate."

When questioned about the newly coined line, "eloquent but empty", a spokesperson for McCain's campaign stated that it was "a preview of things to come". However, according to Senator Obama, this preview of things to come is only a continuation of President Bush's policies for the past eight years. He accused McCain of "nothing more than a third term of George Bush's policies: more fear-mongering, more than a century of war in Iraq, and more budget-busting tax cuts for the wealthiest few at the expense of hardworking Americans."

The campaigns between McCain and Obama appear to be heating up against each other with this new development of friction between them. However, both campaigns appear to be under the guise that they are hoping to run a respectful and smear-free in their presidential campaign.
